Anaerobic Co-Digestion of Products from Biosolids Pyrolysis – Implementation in ADM1

Pyrolyzing biosolids can decrease volume and increase value of solids while anaerobic digestion gas liquids from the process could overall methane production. Prediction behavior biogas yield through simulation is valuable when considering new substrates for digestion. In this study, pyrolysis were implemented in Anaerobic Digestion Model No 1 (ADM1) together with a stream thermally hydrolyzed sludge/food waste used an industrial plant. Average operational data plant was to calibrate base scenario ADM1, achieving good fit. Simulation scenarios evaluating two hydrolysis constants liquid showed minor differences at load simulated variations composition differences. adding relevant increased production by 7 % but decreased 63 61 compared scenario.
